This class is an introduction to the study of the topology of manifolds. Topics covered include calssification of surfaces, fundamental group and covering spaces, CW-complexes and homology.
Prerequisites
Some basic familiarity with topological spaces (e.g., Math 4317 or Math 4431).

Grading
The grade is based on class participation (the students are expected to attend all lectures), and homework assignments.
