  • Course Description

    This class is an introduction to basic topological concepts: point set topology, topological spaces, continuity, compactness, homotopy, and covering spaces.

    Prerequisites

    Some previous knowledge of continuity and compactness: Math 4317.

    Textbooks

    Topology (2nd Edition), by James Munkres, Pearson 2000.

    Homework

    There will be homework assignments due every Tuesday.

    Attendance Policy

    Students are required to attend all lectures.

    Grading

    The grade is based on homework and class participation.
